Temple Gardens Mineral Spa facilitated the exhibition where students displayed posters
and essays of ‘Solutions to Violence through the Eyes of Students’. In addition, Temple
Gardens Mineral Spa hosted the celebrity event with Saskatchewan Roughrider continued with the theme of sports violence and injury.

Prairie South School Division #210 and Holy Trinity Catholic School Division #22
participated in ‘ Solutions to Violence through the eyes of students’ poster and essay
project with middle school age, students from grades 5 to 8. There was an overwhelming
response by students with more than 300 posters and 40 essays. The exhibition of posters and essays were extended from Temple Gardens Mineral Spa into the adjacent Crescent Park with a ‘Walk to Solutions’. The voice of students spoke:

Stop Violence!

The impact of student posters continued as the exhibition moved to the Mosaic Art Gallery
within the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre until July 2009.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders brought awareness and education of ‘Sports Violence’
and ‘Injury’ to a public forum with questions and answers.

The day was wrapped with an international focus by The Canadian Museum of Human
Rights from Winnipeg at the Mae Wilson Theatre. The presentation brought a global
prospective of violence to students and students were commended by the Canadian
Human Rights Museum for making a difference in the community.
